Providing Arts in Education Services

To New York City Youth Since 1967

Students from kindergarten through grade 12 have participated in Ten Penny Players' performances, chapbook publications, and exhibits.  In Search of A Song series began in 1983 at the Jefferson Market Branch of the New York Public Library and continued through the publication of volume #1000.  Streams brought together in 16 annual anthologies high school student writing from all educational streams.  Each student who is published in a Waterways chapbook or picture book receives multiple copies for friends and family.  Enough copies of each book are given to participating teachers to give out to the entire class.  Ten Penny Players coordinates book parties, where authors sign their books and perform for attending parents.  Using Streams On Line (SOL), students work one on one with teaching artists.  Barbara Fisher's teaching artist journal recorded her distance learning lessons with Vocational Training Center students at Bronx Community College.
